Celebrating 10 Years BCPR

BC Pet Registry's 10-Year Anniversary: Reuniting Pets With Their People

For 10 years, BC Pet Registry has proudly reunited lost pets with their families. Since 2015, we’ve registered hundreds of thousands of microchips, helping British Columbians safeguard their companions for life.

Did you know… The BC Pet Registry is the only non-profit registry in Canada dedicated to driving social change.

10 year anniversary BC Pet Registry

Since the program began, we’ve donated over 8,000 microchips to rescue organizations across the province and subsidized microchipping for more than 10,000 animals through the BC SPCA spay/neuter voucher program.

To celebrate a decade of impact, we’re launching a special callout to pet guardians and clinics alike. Whether you’re a new pet owner, a seasoned veterinarian, or someone with a heartfelt reunion story — this milestone is for you.

Submit Your Reunion Story by June 30

Have you experienced the joy of being reunited with your pet because of a microchip or tattoo? We want to hear from you!

To celebrate our 10-year anniversary, we’re calling on pet guardians to share real stories of how permanent IDs such as microchips and tattoos helped bring their pets home. Whether your reunion happened days or years after your pet went missing, your story could inspire others and prevent heartbreaks.

Submit your story by June 30, 2025, to be featured on our website and social media — and get a chance to win one of 10 prizes valued at $100 each!

Be Part of Something Meaningful: Join the 10 for 10 Campaign – For Vets

Every year, thousands of pets go missing. While many have a microchip, roughly 1 in 5 aren’t linked to any pet registry—making it incredibly difficult to bring them home again. *

Your clinic can help change that trend.

From June 1 to September 30, 2025, we invite veterinary clinics across British Columbia to join our 10 for 10 Campaign. The goal is simple: identify and register at least 10 unregistered pets during the campaign period.

By participating, you’ll be part of a growing community working to close the gap in pet protection. With over 600 clinics in B.C., imagine the impact we can make—together.
